Sample Bit Rate ?
What should the sample bit rate be? The manual says 16 Bit but would 24 bit be better?

Re: Sample Bit Rate ?
For recording and editing it is probably better to work at 32-bit. This will give you better audio quality to work with. The downside is the the Audacity projects will take up more space - this however is not a real problem as projects are normally only used as temporary work files - when you have finished a project youy would normally export it as WAV(s) MP3(s) or whatever - and then delete the Audacity project files.
HOWEVER - when exporting to WAV for CD you should ensure that you export at 16-bit PCM stereo (the Red Book CD standard) . Audacity will handle the downsampling on export for you.
