After I export the WAV files, can I go and convert them to MPEG-4 files to use in iTunes? I have an iPod. I am using Audacity 1.2.6 and Win XP.

IIRC you should be able to use iTunes to do the WAV to AAC-MP4 concersion for you - off the top of my head I can't remeber how to do it.
(A roundabout way would be to burn the WAVs to a music CD and then rip the CD into iTunes at your preferred AAC bitrate.)
Alternatively you you could export MP3s from Audacity and use those on iTunes iPod - they will work fine - but bitrate for bitrate AAC gives better audio quality that the equivalent sized MP3. Or you could even use the WAVs on iTunes/iPod - best audio quality - but they take up a lot more space than the compressed MP3s/MP4s as I am sure you are aware.
