Audacity Forum

I've used Audacity in the past to creat ringtones, but, for some reason, each time I try now, after I import a song, play it and stop it where I want, it will not allow me to highlight my selection and 'trim outside selection'. It states that its (disabled).
For some reason, it seems to be that way on every song I want to cut.
Is there some program that will accomplish what I'm looking for?

Audacity will do that. You just have to make sure you use Stop and not Pause to stop playback. You can't edit audio while Paused.

Why would you come to the help forums and ask for new software rather than ask for help?
