Hi,
I'm using Vista. 2GB Ram
I have a 10 minute audio file which closes when I try to amplify. (Audacity has stopped working.)
Any suggestions or links to answers greatfully received.
Thanks

If it helps...
I've amplified sections of recording many times before, so I know I'm doing it right.
I am using a new computer, which I've used for Audacity editing for a while, but this is the first time I've used it to amplify.
I've tried downloading a new copy of Audacity twice, including once from
http://audacityteam.org/ and it works fine until I try amplify!
I have also reset audacity preferences.

Look in "Help > About Audacity" , exactly which version of Audacity are you using? (it should be 1.3.11)
Are you amplifying the entire track, or just part of it?
Are you zoomed so that you can see the entire track, or just part of it?

Thanks for the help.
The version is 1.2.6
I'm not using the new Beta version.
I'm amplifying an entire track.
I zoom to see the whole track before highlighting and amplifying.
Thanks for the help...

Although 1.2.6 is labelled "stable", it is not stable on Vista, Win 7, or some of the new Macs. (it was good back in the days of Windows 98

)
Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.11 and with a bit of luck the problem will magically disappear.

Thanks for the info.
I'll do as you say.
Much appreciated.
Cheers.
