I'm using audacity 1.26. I've always loved it but always get 1 small problem - whenever I record, when I play it back, the pitch is off. I'm using XP pro with a 2.8ghz CPU with 3.6GB RAM so I don't think it's a Pc problem (as I've seen in other posts). I think it's a config issue. I've switched to different input devices (Microsoft, etc) but same thing. I end up doing a pitch correction when finished but it gets annoying.
Please help!!

Re: Recording - Pitch is slow
It's almost certainly not a configuration issue. It's almost certainly a poorly designed/built sound card clock. Try recording at a different sample rate and see if that helps. Most sound cards run natively at 48000 Hz, so in order to get them to run at 44100 Hz (the one you're most likely using), they need to convert the sample rate on the fly. If the card is not designed very well, then this can cause problems.
Try 48000 Hz and let us know if you still have trouble. You can change the default rate in the edit -> preferences -> quality menu. You can also change the rate temporarily by using the drop down menu in the bottom left hand corner of Audacity's main screen. Make sure this says 48000 before recording.

Re: Recording - Pitch is slow
I was having the same issue. I was recording at 44100 and switched that to 48000 and it's fine now. Saves a ton of time. Thanks.
FYI, my config:
Dell dimension 4600, 2.8ghz, 2.5gb ram, integrated soundmax audio card

Re: Recording - Pitch is slow
I am having the same problem but changing the speed from 44.100 to 48000 haven't work.
Whenever i record my guitar, and play the track back, I get the pitch beeing moved up by about 1/2 tone... Any idea?
