Echo will not apply! Help!

Hey everyone, here's my issue. I'm trying to end a song with an echo out and am really stuck, I'm not getting the right effect with GVerb and was only able to get it right once with the echo effect. I was only able to use it successfully once, now everytime I choose 'Echo', set the decay and delay, then hit "Preview' it only plays what was already there, like no effect had been added. What's even worse is when you hit 'Ok' nothing happens to the track, it's like I never went to echo in the first place. Anyone else have this happen, any ideas on a fix? Thanks so much for your help.

You may have the echo set too slow to actually occur within the selection. Exactly what settings are you using for the echo, and how long is the selection that you are applying it to? Is the recording mono or stereo?

Just for grins, what happens if you add a second or two of silence after your last note and then apply the echo so it spills over into that?

I have already tried applying silence...no dice. Am trying to echo a very short segment, maybe 3 secs so that could be the issue. .7 delay .3 degradation are the settings im using.

Pull down this short sound clip...

Start Audacity fresh and open that file. Does the echo tool work?
