Hi,
Is there a simple way, or program, that will allow me to copy the wave form to a graphics (jpg) file?

You can capture what's on the screen by doing a screen shot. Open the wave form you want the image of in Audacity and hit the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Open a graphics program and select "edit/paste". Then save the image as "whatever_you_want_to_call_it.jpg"

Thanks Straightupwv,
I was aware of that method. I don't why, but I was thinking that Audacity might have the capacity to copy the wave.

shinnen,

If you're thinking of taking a screen shot of a waveform and converting that to an audio file, it can't work unless you've only got a few hundred samples in the waveform. Even then, you'll have trouble finding software to do that.

For the average file, a single pixel's worth of display might represent hundreds or thousands of samples. There's no way one pixel can represent all that data.

Hi Alatham,
No, I'm only interested in capturing it form the artistic point of view. It seems like a potent visual representation of emotions, so I'm looking at it from that perspective.

Ahhh, Audacity doesn't do that itself.

I would use straightupwv's advice and use the 'print screen' button. But first I would press [ctrl]+[shift]+f to expand all the tracks to fit the entire Audacity Window. That's the highest resolution picture you'll get out of Audacity.
