AFter using Audacity, version 1.3.9 for Windows 7 successfully for months, suddenly nothing worked today. When I started it, a quick "file" type of bar came up, then dissapeared before I could read it, then Audacity opened. I hit record, but the pause button stuck on and wouldn't go off. Found the setting that only started recording upon finding sound, unchecked it and figured I be good, nothing.
I checked speakers, settings are to the realtek speakers, volume through control panel sound devices up and working. I reinstalled it, same problem. It just isn't finding the playback sound.
On the main Audacity screen, the bars for input do go up and down.
I've been using Audacity for years, never had a problem.

You've posted in the Audacity 1.2 part of the forum, but no worries, I'll move it.Cheysu wrote:AFter using Audacity, version 1.3.9 for Windows 7
Upgrading to 1.3.11 is highly recommended as this fixes several known bugs.
Reinstalling rarely makes any difference at all because Audacity preferences persist from one installation to the next. See the instructions here for resetting Audacity Preferences: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audac ... defaults_2Cheysu wrote:I reinstalled it, same problem.
