Hi,
Just wanted to know, if I have an .MP3 file, and I used Audacity, to cut out a section, and save it. Will the quality of source and secondary files be exactly the same..?
Quality after crop

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Quality after crop
Two problems.
-- Audacity will not Save a sound file. You have to Export to get a sound file.
-- Audacity will not edit a MP3 file. It converts the MP3 to a high quality internal format and then exports to a new MP3 when you're done. Each format change produces some damage.
There are a number of pure MP3 editors out there that can do simple editing and cutting without changing the music format or the damage level.
