Hi,
I purchased an Ion USB vinyl to MP3 converter/turntable in December of 2009. It came with Audacity editing software. I was just trying to use the software to clean up an audio track and I was very surprised to find that all of the tasks in the editing menue, such as noise reduction, were unclickable. What good is this software if I can't access any of the features? Could anyone please help me figure out how to access all of the features? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
all off the editing options are inaccessable

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: all off the editing options are inaccessable
You need to select some or all of the audio in order for the exffects to be usable - otherwise there is nothing for them to work on. the keyboard shortcut CTRL+A will select all the audio for you.
You will have been supplied with v1.2 of Audacity by ION - probably 1.2.6 or possibly even 1.2.4 - both these versions are now somewhat out of date - althogh 1.2.6 is officially listed as the "stable version" on the Audacity Website it is over 3 years old npw and is no longer maintained - and is actually less stable on many current platforms than 1.3.11. You can get 1.3.111 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
In 1.3 there is a settable option, via Preferences, whereby all the audio is selected by default - this is so users don't fall foul of the problem you posted with - but personally I always work with this option turned off, as I like to have control over what is selected.

You would probably benefit from having a read of this set of tutorials in the manual which is in development for 1.3 and the upcoming 2.0 releases: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... iscs_to_CD
and as you are using a USB TT then this article from the Wiki may be of use to you: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntables
Oh, and welcome to the world of Audacity and digital editing ...
