Hello all.
I am an Audacity Newbie and really need your help. I recorded a phone interview which I named Steve Smith.
The next day I opened Steve Smith and, after making changes, saved it as Steve Smith2.
The following day I opened Steve Smith2 to find that it will open but it will not play. The cursor (that line that progresses across the recording) appears but just blinks in one place. I also find that the original Steve Smith file will not play either. At this point, it looks like my files are intact but I am unable to play them!
Please help. I have not made any other changes to the system, files, or settings.
Thanks,
T.

Re: Audacity Files No Longer Playing
If you plugged any USB devices in/out, then you may have without realizing it. Check Audacity's output settings to be sure (edit -> preferences -> audio i/o).Please help. I have not made any other changes to the system, files, or settings.
We've seen this sort of behavior before, but I've never seen a convincing explanation of it. A good alternative would be to use Audacity 1.3.4 (Beta) and see if that works. You can install both at the same time. Just be aware that you can't open any projects in 1.2.6 that were saved in later versions.
