problems using audacity files in powerpoint slideshow

I am trying to embed wav files created using Audacity into a powerpoint presentation. I have increased the file size allowed by the program and have embedded the files. The problem is that when I try to listen to the files when the powerpoint slide show is running, they will not play from the web or another computer. They work fine if I run the slideshow on the computer where the files are.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Powerpoint expects to find those files on the local hard drive. If those files aren't on the local hard drive, Powerpoint can't play them.

It may be possible to set Powerpoint up to look for the files on a network drive, but that's a bad idea if the network is too slow. Even then, I'm not sure it's possible and I wouldn't know how to do it.

So, to solve your problem, keep the sound files with the Powerpoint files, on the same disc. Don't expect Powerpoint to magically find files on another computer.
