Problem in multichannel recording

Post by saviour2009 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:42 pm

Hi everybody.....i am using audacity for multichannel recording i.e. recording from more than one channel at a time and am using 1010LT Delta M-Audio card in my system. The problem that I am facing with audacity is that it is taking input from one channel and sending the same input to all channels but the output from all the channels is different. The audacity should show different waveforms on all the channels but it is showing the same waveform due to the above mentioned problem. Even while playing multichannel data audacity behaves ridiculously....all the 6 sounds should be played on different speakers in the case of a 5.1 multi-speaker surround sound system but except the first two sounds it plays all the sounds on the first speaker. I am in desperate need for some solution as I am involved in a project and am running short of time. Suggestions/advices are invited.

Audacity will not play multi-track, but sometimes it will record it.
