hello,
I am using Audacity to record phone interviews (which has been working fine). I've just discovered that one of my saved project files won't open the associated audio files. However, I can open the individual "bits" of the interview from the data folder, copy them and paste them into the project file. Is there any other easier way to recover everything? Also, there's no associated .aup.bak file, if that means anything. Thanks.

I bet [holding fingers to forehead] that you moved either the _DATA file, the AUP file, or both and they can't find each other any more. Did I hit it? The AUP file (which will open up in NotePad and you can read it) has instructions how to find the _DATA and other files in your show. If you move any of them, the show falls apart.

You only get the .bak file when you save a project more than once. Maybe that's the problem. You thought you saved the project, but that's the instant that the phone rang....
