saving music though audacity problem

hi fellas

this is a relatively an easy fix but i forget how to do it..when i play music into my computer i can hear the music as its going in as i hear it on my speakersbut audacity inst reacting at all.thje vu metrers arent reacting at all..whats the best way to config these two programs?thank
