Problems recording with Click Track.

Post by matchey » Wed Feb 03, 2010 3:38 pm

Hi, I am new to this forum so I hope someone can help me.

I downloaded Audacity, which works well, but when insert a click track, and then record my guitar on another track through the microphone, it records the click track again as well, making this annoying distorted noise of the two click tracks out of synch and my guitar continues as normal.

I wear headphones to hear the click track, and my microphone is no where near me. Am I recording the machines ouput and input at the same time? Thanks in advance.

This usually happens when your machine is recording "Mix-Out" instead of just the microphone or external mixer feed. That's the setting you need active when you capture internet audio, so many people leave it running by accident when they're trying to record a live, local performance.

Turn it off in the Windows Control Panel.

Thanks. I muted the volume on "Stereo Mix" on the Sound and Audio Recording properties in Control Panel and now it works fine.
