I record onto an 8 track and export onto Audacity. My problem is that at the end of the song there is around a minute of silent time which I cannot get rid of and this is annoying because it transfers with the song to disc. This means I have to listen to a minute of silence in between songs. I have tried cutting and pasting and have searched for a solution. Advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Jim

Re: Long periods of silence
Have you got "Snap To" turned on? If so turn it off (In 1.2.x use Edit > Snap To ... > Snap Off - the indicator is at the bottom of the Audacity window).

Re: Long periods of silence
Thanks snap to is off. I think the problem has solved itself. It seems that by exporting the song as a Wav file into windows media player instead of an mp3 transfers only the song and not the extra silence!
