Vista 64 bit
I am using vista 64 bit with audacity 1.2.6. After I make a recording I do not get any sound on play back when my USB mic is plugged in. Once I unplug the USB mic it works fine! Any ideas?
Re: Vista 64 bit
When you connect a USB device, your computer hands over both the input and output of your sound setup to the USB device, unless you tell it otherwise.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O, and set the playback device to your computer's sound card.

Re: Vista 64 bit
Thanks, I had changed the output to my sound card prior to plugging in the mic. Must be it switches once I plug it in. I will check the setting when I have the mic plugged in.
Re: Vista 64 bit
The output setting does not change when I plug the mic in. I go edit> preferences> I/O and I get no sound no matter what the setting is on.
Re: Vista 64 bit
I figured it out! My computer changed its output to the mic when I plugged it in. I just had to disable it under the sound settings in my computer and now I am in business!
