Can some one help me at all. I am not to good with computers.
I have Windows 2000 on a Desktop computer.

I have installed Audacity just fine and can record with it, then transfer files to iTunes.
The problem is that on my recordings there is a clicking sound in the back grounds. It sounds electoninc in nature and beeps almost every second. I pluged in a microphone to the back of this computer and my voice comes out loud and clear. However the noise is a distraction.
I tried using the Noise Removal tool in effects but it did not really help, except to distort my speaking voice. Can anyone offer and idea. I am just recording stories for children. Thanks.

Steve

Steve,

please do not hijack other users threads - paticularly those with little or no relevance to your own problem. In future, fo a new question please start a new thread - I have split your posting off and given it a more relevant title.

Do you have virus checking turned on? If so can you either disconnect from Internet and any LAN that you are connected to and temporarily turn the virus checker off (BUT do remember to tunrn it ON again befeore reconnecting to the Internet). Alternatively some virus checkers can be set to "trust" cetain files. Audacity makes .aup and a loot of little .au files for each project - can you set your virus checker to "trust"/ignore these file types?
