USB Mic not working

I'm using the Blue Yeti but cannot record in Audacity. Using win xp.

The microphone must be connected to the computer and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity. If you look in the "Windows Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices" you will be able to see if the device is available as a recording device.
Providing that the device is available to Windows, open Audacity and go to "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O" and select the USB option as the recording device.
