I have Audacity 1.2.6 running again on Windows XP, but I have "left channel syndrome" when recording. The right channel shows nothing. I have preferences set to record in stereo. I'm using a 1/4 inch guitar cord with an adapter (1/4 inch female to headphone male) and it's plugged into the line-in jack. I can get both channels recording if I'm plugged into the microphone jack, but not the line-in jack. I'm using RealTek HD audio input and output.
Any help would be appreciated.
Left channel only

Re: Left channel only
The "line in" jack is a true stereo connection - and is likely to be much better suited to recording your guitar than the mic input.
A couple of ways round this:
1) Setting your recording to "mono" should work.
2) If you are wanting to apply any stereo effects, then simply split the track, copy the recording to the silent track, then "Mix and Render" back to a stereo track.
This is a mono signal, connected to the jack input via a mono lead, which is why you only get one channel recording.nolastar wrote:'m using a 1/4 inch guitar cord with an adapter (1/4 inch female to headphone male)

Re: Left channel only
Thanks Steve, setting it to mono worked fine. The level meter shows left channel during recording, but playback is through both sides of the headphones.
