Recording from lp, only right channel work, left clicks

I have bought an USB recordplayer (LP), and have installed everything correctly.
My problem is that I get a good descent sound in right input, and the wav file looks ok, but the left input is weak with a lot of "crackles" and lower in volume.
You can also se on the wav file that its small with a lot of dips, clics everywhere.

If I choose only mono, that is the sound I get (with the crakles!)
If i solo the right, it sounds like it should.

Could this be the converters in the unit that is faulty, or could it be drivers?
Thanks:-
KK

It could be a number of things.

The first thing I would do is try to use Windows Sound Recorder to get a Stereo recording from it. Does it work there?

If it does, then it's an Audacity setup issue.

If it does not (and I suspect it won't), then it's a hardware or drivers problem. If you can, try it with a different computer. That will narrow it down to either the computer or the turntable itself.

You could also try simply unplugging and replugging the Turntable, that's got a chance to help and is simple.

If you can narrow the source of the problem down to the turntable, then make sure the stylus is aligned. A misaligned stylus will not give you a proper stereo recording.
