Hi

I've just started using Audacity, recorded 3 albums and the name of the first album, and artists, are appearing in the windows explorer window for all three when I view them!!

So far I am unable to track down where I set up the subsquent recording, obviously did it on the first and would appreciate a guiding hand to set me straight.

Many thanks
Geoff

You have posted in the Audacity 1.2 / Windows part of the forum, but Audacity 1.2 does not support Metadata editing.
You can change the metadata in Windows after the file is Exported by right clicking on the file and selecting properties > go to where the id3 tags are displayed and change them.

Just found it too, thanks. I am using 1.2.6 under Windows, hence the posting.

Edit ID3 Tags is under Project

Thanks, quite correct. It's so rare that I use 1.2.6 I'd forgotten that

Just a note about id3 tag support in Audacity - it is per project, not per track. As many users use Audacity for multi-track projects, it would get extremely confusing if each track had it's own metadata, and when you came to do a mix-down Audacity would not know which metadata to use. Consequently, the metadata for the first track that you import will be used for the entire project, unless you change it. When you start a new project, the metadata should be reset back to empty.
