I'm sure this has been disscussed many times but I can't find what I'm after, so please forgive my novice level question.
I'm running audacity v1.2.6 on windows vista home premium and get massive monitor latency, can this be corrected for on this version? and if so how?

Switch off "Software Playthrough".

Switching off "software playthrough" didn't make any difference unfortunately. I'll try downloading the lateset version and go from there. Thanks
