why can't i see the waveform?

why can't i see the waveform?
New to Audacity and trying to figure out UI. I can record a track but can't see the waveform in the gui. Also it is displaying four tracks but i only need two (stereo recording). What's the trick?

Never mind...
I reinstalled Audacity and that seemed to resolve the issue.

If you have created multiple tracks that you don't need - the trick is to delete the ones you don't want by clicking in the little x at the top left hand corner of the track control box.gdog wrote: What's the trick?
