Trouble with exporting MP3s

Hi, I've been using Audacity for several months now, and I haven't had a problem with it until now. Recently, my computer had a sudden rebooting problem, but was fixed after disabling some programs and services that ran on starting up Windows XP. Now, when I record something on Audacity, and try exporting it as an mp3, the program either crashes or exports an mp3 that 26 bytes or smaller. I've tried re-enabling the programs and services I disabled one by one to see if that was the problem, and none of them worked. How can I fix this problem?

Can you export your show as a WAV instead of MP3? If neither one works, it's not the problem of the MP3 module.

Chances are you have a damaged MP3 program. It's not awful to download the program (Windows DLL I think) again and reinstall it.

You hit the nail on the head. I re-downloaded the lame_enc.dll file and now it's working perfectly. Thanks so much!
