can't recod with Tape2USB hardware

Post by Elaine » Tue Jan 12, 2010 5:09 am

I purchased a Tape2USB device for converting casette tapes to MP3. I connected the device tp my computer with the USB cable as instructed, but I am unable to get it to record the music with the Audacity software. My computer recgnized the new hardware when it was connected. When I press the play button on the devcie (with a cassette in the device), and the record button on the Audacity software, nothing gets recorded.

Which computer and which operating system - and which version of Audacity?

Did you connect the USB before starting Audacity (you should).

See this article in the Wiki - it is primarily about USB TTs but much of the advice will apply to your tape unit too: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... turntables

BTW this is not a "Downloading & Failed Installation" issue as from your post you obviously installled Audacity - please help us all by posting any future threads in the section of the forum relevant to your version of Audacity and youtr operating system - thanks.
