I use audacity to create audio flashcards for language study. I just got a new laptop and I'm trying to record sound off of my soundcard, but the quality is terrible. (See attached.) Audacity works fine when I import an audio file, however.
Help?
Thanks.

Re: Poor sound quality...
I agree, it sounds terrible. What exactly are you recording and how are you recording it?

Re: Poor sound quality...
This particular clip is from a Mandarin dubbed version of LoTR. I'm just playing it as I usually would and recording using Audacity. What exactly are you recording and how are you recording it?
I'm running Windows 7, so I tried using the Beta version and updating my sound card drivers, but now it won't record at all.
Anyway, I've gone ahead and ordered a Behringer UCA202 just in case I can't get this fixed. Any help is appreciated though.
Best wishes.

Have a read through this tutorial - it contains information specific to setting up USB turntables. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... uter_or_CD
