Hello,
I was wondering how one would EQ a song while it's playing, as opposed to just choosing a preset EQ.

Audacity does not do real time processing. There is a feature request for real-time processing and it is currently the second most voted for feature with 49 votes - would you like me to add your vote to make it up to 50?

Personally I think that Equalization is a special case and that even if there is no other real time effects there should be real time Eq.

Hi Steve,
Yes, please add my vote to the proposal to add real time eqaulization to the software. Incidentally, are there any products out there that do offer real time equalization?
Thanks very much for the quick reply!
Best Regards,

Most VST host programs will, for example Cubase and Sonar, but these are not free.
I think Wavosaur will (free but not open source and not multi-track)
Reaper can (not free, not open source, but inexpensive and excellent unrestricted demo).
I'm on Linux, so I use Audacity for editing, but if I need real-time processing I switch to Ardour.
