no recording option (pics)

Hello, I am running windows vista ultimate, audacity 1.2.6

laptop model: VGN-NR110E

Basically i need to record some sounds off the computer, and i want to use audacity to capture the sounds..


The only problem with that is that audacity is not recognizing the recording devices..

i really dont know what to do.. do i need to update drivers or what? everything else is working, i have sound. I just cant capture sounds on this laptop, and i really wish i could like on my desktop.

I've not got Vista, but there may be something here to help (particularly lower down the page):

If you get it working, it could help others if you post what steps you have taken. If you still have problems, please post again and say what you have tried.

same here. on xp i always used the drop down box and used "record what you hear. with new laptop and Vista, the box
has gone away and I can't figure out how to record streaming audio, like off of winamp. I need help to tell me how do it.
what do i do? or is it not possible anymore?

I had the exact same problem with the same audio device, also on a laptop. This was because one of the recording devices was disabled by default in the mixer. The steps on the link above were helpful:
