Hi,

I had Audacity on my last pc running XP and it was great ( we only use it for listening to vinyl singles albums etc)
Got a new pc running Window 7 and for some reason when we play records the sound is terrible.
It sounds like it is turned up full blast and is distorted but we have no volume controls on the turntable, all we did way get a new pc.
Can anybody give me any ideas, i have read through alot of things but to no avail.
Thank

Angi

You may be able to change the recording level in the Control Panel. See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ng_devices

With Vista and Windows 7 you should use the latest Audacity 1.3 version which is available here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... tly_Builds

Did you look at the first link? The Windows Control Panel is where you get access to all computers sound services. I can't help you with details as I don't use Windows and the only person that I knew that had Windows 7 has just replaced it with XP.
