Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
Frank,
I can open all 3 of your attachments ok. A couple of points.
1) I see no blue waveform when you say you have pressed the Record Button
You should see something like this in the attachment
2) Your signal level into Audacity is way too high and you will be getting clipping.

Frankl,
In your third screenshot, you have the pause button pressed, and Audacity is waiting for it to be released to start recording. That should give you the blue waves.
However, as Waxcylinder says, when you see those waves you will have clipping.

Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
Here's a long shot:
In the spec for the Gemini USB turntable, there is a Phono/Line switch which selects the level for the RCA analog output which this TT also has.
Is it possible that this switch will affect the level going to the USB port on the TT?
Unlikely, I know, but maybe worth a shot?

WC I sent a reply regarding your advise and have not heard anything in return?
Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
wc disregard I did not realize your reply was on the second page.
let me try these suggestions and I will get back.
frank,
let me try these suggestions and I will get back.
frank,
Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
WC, I have tried again attached is a recording but getting no clear sound.
There is a switch for RC and phono. I switch it back and forth no difference.
You mention “Your signal level into Audacity is way too high and you will be getting clipping” I looked everywhere on the panel including the preferences and can't find a way to lower the clipping? Please advice.
Again, I appreciate your patience in this matter but I think I have gotten to point if your next reply does not get this TT working I will return it for a full refund. I find it very difficult to understand a vendor selling a TT that you claim is a plug and play and it takes six weeks just to get it playing correctly is beyond my computer knowledge.

Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
Frank,
boy oh boy you sure are getting a lot of clipping - I don't think I've ever seen an Audacity waveform display that shows so much red !
Ok - something else we can try ...
Does your PC have a line-in socket (it will be a little 3.5mm stereo jack socket (normally coloured blue) - NOT a Microphone input socket ?
If so you can try connecting your Gemini to your PC with the RCA outputs that it has (I note from its spec that you should have these). You will need a cable to go from RCA pair to 3.5mm stere jack for this. Tou will nedd to ensure that your Gemini is set to Line output (not phono) otherwise the signal will not pass throiugh the Gemini's pre-amp and you will not get the necessary RIAA equalisation applied (and your recording will sound thin and bassless).
Configured this way the mic input slider in Audacity should become operationsl and thus should allow you to mangae and control the input signal level.
================================================
Alternative:
As you obviously have vinyl it is likely that you already have a turntable and a pre-amp (may be bundled in your amp or mini hi-fi system) - Is that the case? If so then sending back the Gemini connecting this TT & pre-amp to your PC - as above RCA to mini-jack line-in on your PC. Or you may want to use this existing TT with a small combined pre-amp and USB soundcard (ART make a good one) - but one with a gain control on it so you can manage the signal level.

Re: No Sound or Record after loading Audacity 1.2.6.
Just a further thought Frank - have you grounded the TT as the Gemini manual suggests?
