No Sound

I'm running Audacity 1.2.6 on Windows Vista. I've had no trouble recording and playing back in Audacity. I also downloaded LAME and saved as MP3. I imported the file into my iTunes library, but when I click on it, there is no sound. The file is playing (the tab is moving) but, no sound. I also saved the same file in .wav and tried to play with through Windows Media - same problem. I can see the lines waving and the little tab moving, but again, no sound. Did I do something wrong when saving? Like I said, it plays perfectly in Audacity... I'm so frustrated! Help!!!

If you're using iTunes I wouldn't bother with MP3 - rather I would use AAC which is Apple's format that it uses as default when you rip CDs into your iTunes library or if you buy a song from the iTunes Store. AAC genearlly gives better quality that MP3 for the same bitrate.

Just export as WAVs from Audacity and then use iTunes to do the AAC conversion. See this sticky thread for details: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 28&t=18759

I'm having similar issues with no sound. I'm also running 1.2.6 on Vista. I have no problems with recording or with play back in audacity, but when I export to mp3 I have no sound. I dounloaded the LAME file. I was not prompted to located the file, but went in to preferences and set it location that way. I'm not trying to put the files into itunes. Any suggestions??

What program are you playing the MP3s with?
If you Import the MP3 into a new Audacity project, does it appear (and play) correctly?
