I'd like to set it at 256. Somehow, I had previously managed to set it at 192, but I don't remember how.
There used to be a clear option on the previous version of Audacity. But I can't find it on 1.33.
Help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I bet you'd get a lot more help and faster over on the 1.3.x Windows forum. If you have trouble with 1.2.x, I'm your man.

They've moved it in 1.3.
Just do the Export, select MP3 as file type - and in the Export dialogue box (the one where you set the export file name) click the Options box. You wll get another dialogue box which enables you te set the biot rate and the bit rate mode.
Or if you are doing multipple export to MP3 - click the Options button to the right of the "Export Format" selection dropdown - the same dialogue box as above will appear.
AFAIK Audacity will remember your settings from the previous usage, probably by writing to your Preferences file, so whatever you set it to effectively becomes your default.
Personally I think that this is a slightly less intuitive interface than in 1.2 - but it does work.

Funny that - I thought it was more intuitive (took me ages to find it in 1.2)
