Hi,
When recording I am only getting an input signal on the left track.
I have set everything I can see up as the instructions say for stereo.
I am using an M-Audio Fast track pro as an interface.

I am new to this any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are you using as the input? A microphone?

Yes, a condenser mic is the input. we get signal on the left, but nothing on the right. Are we missing something?
Thanks.

I presume that this is a mono microphone and that is why you are only getting a single (mono) channel. The Fast track pro handles channels in a good way for recording - each channel is independent of the other. This means that you can record from 2 microphones (or other mono sources) and each input is recorded on the corresponding channel with very little "cross-talk". To record a single microphone you should set Audacity to record "1 channel (mono)" (Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O) and use the appropriate input on the FastTrack (probably input 1). A mono track in Audacity will play through both left and right speakers and you can adjust the Left/Right balance using the "Pan" slider on the left side of the track.
