Unknown Device ITUT-201SVR USB Turntable Windows 7
Hi, I have a new USB turntable (model ITUT-201SVR) and my Windows 7 computer only recognizes it as an unknown device. I checked the device properties it says “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”. If I go through the steps to update the driver, windows informs me that the driver for the unknown device is up to date. However, it does not appear to be working. I do not have the option of selecting the device under the Audacity Preferences/Audio I/O sreen. I have tried reinstalling the software that came with the turntable (audacity 1.2.6), restarting the computer and plugging the turtable into different USB ports. Any advice? Thanks.

1.2.6 is now a very old release and I don't believe that it works well with Windows 7.
I recall a number of postings on the forum recommending the latest Beta version 1.3.10 for use with Windows 7. Try searching the forum with the Search function (top right of window) for more insight.
You can get 1.3 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
Ignore the warning that says "For advanced users .." - 1.3 is now a pretty mature Beta and in most circumstances is at least as "stable" if not more so than the officially labelled 1.2.6 "stable".
Just be aware that there is a small bug in 1.3.10 whereby when using the multiple export it rounds up to the next five secound boundary at the end of each track. You could consider using 1.3.9 rather than 1.3.10 to avoid this.
The following Wiki articles should help you out a lot:

Re: Unknown Device ITUT-201SVR USB Turntable Windows 7
OK, I downloaded the newer verion and my computer still does not recognize the turntable. Is there a way to direct windows to the driver?
Re: Unknown Device ITUT-201SVR USB Turntable Windows 7
Check with the manufacturer to see if the device is supported by Windows 7. They may have drivers available for Windows 7.
