Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

This is a USB device right? You do have it plugged in before starting Audacity?

Which version of windows are you using?

Have a look at this page in the Wiki - it's about USB TTs but some of the advice there will apply to USB soundcards too: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... turntables

Yes, mbox 2 mini. I plug it in before i start audacity and it won't show up in preferenses. When using pro tools le 8 it does work to record and to hear the sound trough the usb soundcard.

I also tried the troubleshooting on the page you linked but it didn't work. Maybe the mbox 2 mini doesnt work with adaucity?

If you using Vista or Windows 7 you need to ensure that it is enabled for recording. See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ng_devices
