No sound, can't record
I recently bought a mbox-2mini and when i plug it in and look for it in properties it doesn't show up as playback or output.
Re: No sound, can't record
Does it show up in the Windows Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices?
If you are using Vista you will probably have to enable it in the Control Panel.

Re: No sound, can't record
It does show up under two preferenses, under audio devices -> standard devices and under voice -> standard device or something like that i don't have it in english. I'm running windows XP and i have the latest drivers for the mbox. Also tried it on another computer with xp installed and it didn't show up either but in sound and audio devices it did.
Re: No sound, can't record
In the Windows Control Panel, set it as the default device for audio recording and playback, then in Audacity select "Microsoft Sound Mapper" for Playback and Recording.

Re: No sound, can't record
Now when i start recording it uses the mic from the computer instead of the mic connected in the mbox device. It does work to record and it does sound to.
Re: No sound, can't record
When Audacity is set to "Microsoft Sound Mapper" it will record whatever your sound system is set up for. Use your system Sound Control (Mixer) application to configure your sound card. There is usually a loudspeaker icon near to the time/date, but if not you can configure it through the Windows Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices. (there are several "hidden" settings, so check all the tabs and buttons)

Describe exactly what you are trying to do.
I'll be away for a couple of days over Christmas, but perhaps someone else will be able to pick this up. If not, I'll look out for it when I get back. In the mean time, have a look at the "Tips" and "Tutorials" links at the top of this page - you may find enough info to get you going.
Happy Christmas
