Audacity Forum

Hi. I'm using Audacity 1.2.6 on Win Vista. Under Audio I/O I have Recording- Device set to "Line-in" and Playback- Device set to Speaker. However, when I have something playing on my computer, either on iTunes or streaming audio, and I select Record, the line advances in Audacity as if it's recording but when I attempt to playback I get nothing.

Am I missing a setting?

You could be setting something incorrectly, or you could have no setting to go to. Generally, you have to record "Mix-Out" or "What U Hear" instead one of the more normal inputs or outputs. Some computers don't support that anymore.
