Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

When I add a track, it goes in the program, but when I play the program, it makes an annoying high pitched sound and it's only a second long. The original video was 3 minutes long. What's wrong with this?

-- Audacity doesn't support video formats.
-- Audacity doesn't support advanced sound formats, video or not. Audacity 1.3 supports more formats than 1.2 does, but there's still no awards. When you try to load a foreign file,it goes by at high speed depending on the compression amount.

Change the work to WAV with Super or Switch (downloads) before you try to edit.
