i just downloaded and joined today and have played with audacity all afternoon, but i can
not figure out how to say take a 5 second sound clip and make it loop, like where it just repeats and repeats, i have just turned 60 so that may account for some of my stupidness.

What an old coot! Actually, Bob, I'll be 58 in a month and love Audacity. I've ben using it for two years.
Here's a suggestion: highlight the loop, copy it, then paste it right after the first loop. You should be able to do this over and over as much as you like!

Kids...
You can get Audacity to play a track automatically by pressing "L" instead of the normal play button. You can go on vacation and it will still be looping when you get back.
