Here is the scenario I have. There is no other way to explain it clearly.
I have a hefty music file that I started to spliting up in anticipation of using the Export Multiple command. Please Note that I didnt actually make a selection of music to"Add Label at selection" I only clicked one location to add the Label at selection. Now I have used this method before sucessfully, But after doing it a few times have came across this question.
When using the Export Multiple command, can you selectively choose which labels/tracks you export instead of all of available time in the project. IE if you only add 2 labels using the method I described above, the 2nd label will carry on with the remainder of the file. So label 1 is 5 mins and label 2 is 55 mins.
Cliff Notes: Maybe I Can hit cancel when the track's title export dialog box appears to kind of skip it.
Thanks for any input.
Whatever could save me time would be fantastic.

Re: Export Multiple Command
What you're describing can be done, but not in 1.2.
1.3 supports "regions labels" - labels that span a selection of audio. If you have two region labels in your project then select Export Multiple, then the audio spanned by those two regions will be exported and nothing else.
See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... e#Examples . Scroll down to the last example.
In 1.2, you could make 4 labels marking the start and end of the regions you want to export. Then select each region in turn and do Export Selection.

Re: Export Multiple Command
Thanks alot Bill for your response and link,
So as a follow up just so I understand. To get the desired results of exporting certion songs , one should make Region Label Marking and not Point Label Marking .
Thanks again

Yes. But only in 1.3. 1.2 does not support region labels.Prophecy99 wrote: So as a follow up just so I understand. To get the desired results of exporting certain songs , one should make Region Label Marking and not Point Label Marking .
Also note that 1.3.10 has problems with Export Multiple and Export Selection - exported files are rounded up to the nearest 5 seconds. If you intend to use Export Multiple or Export Selection you should use 1.3.9, or 1.3.11 once a nightly build with the fix has been posted. Stevethefiddle is watching for this update to be posted and hopefully will report here when it is.

Re: Export Multiple Command
Thanks for the heads up Bill, I am definately using 1.3 here.
As I did another project today I used the selection region label marking method to export multiple via labels as described in your links last example and I still could not selectively Export Individual labels of the available Labels? Am I doing something wrong? In other words its still exporting the entire projects labels and not just the 2 I want.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Export Multiple Command
Yes, Audacity will export all labelled regions. You need to delete the labels from regions you do not want to export, or select those regions one by one (click on the region label to select the audio region) and use export selection.Prophecy99 wrote:Thanks for the heads up Bill, I am definately using 1.3 here.
