I run Vista and downloaded the stable version (1.2.6 i think) and at first it would open up and work.(there were three error messages you had to click through that mentioned fl studio Temporary Top Window, but then it worked, but would sometimes freeze when you exported). i also use fl studio on this pc - i think this has something to do with the problem. now, whenever i launch audacity, it immediately freezes, saying;
"audacity.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
WHAT DO I DO? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail

In this case "Stable" Audacity may be a little optimistic. Pull down 1.3 and see if that doesn't work better.
