I am using Audicity to process, and label, songs from a USB turntable. When I export the songs from Audicity, as a MP3 file, the file name and album name shows up in Windows Media Player. The songs play appropriately. When I burn a disk from Windows Media Player or Roxio, the songs transfer to the CD but not the song name or album name. The songs are just labeled track 1, track 2, etc. How do I burn a disk such that the song name shows up?
Thank you.

Audio CDs do not support metadata as such. There is a way too add some track information which is to use "CD text". This is not strictly part of the original audio CD format and it is not supported by some CD writers.

Furthermore, iTunes does not pick up CD-text and insists on using GraceNote CDDB.stevethefiddle wrote:Audio CDs do not support metadata as such. Re: How to burn CD with song tiles?
It's a surprise to a lot of people that Music CDs don't carry song titles. The first time you play a CD on a computer not connected to the internet (so the player can go look up the titles), the song titles turn into track01.cda, track02.cda, etc.
