I just found this program and was looking at tutorial on moving some songs from my tapes to a CD and it Audacity was what the author used.
Play the tape. You should have a few seconds of silence at the beginning of your recording so click the red "Record" button just before the music starts; you should hear the music coming from your computer's speakers.
I got the program working and it does get the songs into Audacity - but I can't hear it out of my speakers. But if I stop the recording and play it - it plays fine, so I know the recording is working.
How do I get it to send the song to the speakers while it is recording? Is there a setting I need to set first?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Playing music while recording
Audacity Preferences > Hardware Playthrough. Restart Audacity.
If that fails, try software playthrough. That's more likely to work, but that's the one with the sound delay.
