Exporting OGG on a Restrictive Network

Hello,

Does anyone know why OGG Vorbis export produces the following error on a reasonably well locked down PC?:
Unable to open target file for writing
The machines in question only allow the logged in user to write to their profile (under "Document and Settings") the "Program Files" folder and their network documents folder.

MP3 export works on the same machines, but I want to use OGG! (I would like to use Audacity to prepare audio for another open source application that only supports OGG and Wave).

Many thanks,

You can also get that error if you put evil characters in your filename, like dates. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash, and underscore. No other characters.

Many "insane computer" problems surrender to Audacity 1.3.10. You can put 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open up in 1.2.

1.2 is becoming a serious problem in modern operating systems.

No worries--thanks for highlighting the compatibility issue.

I didn't realise that you can store the program's settings by creating a 'Portable Settings' folder with 1.3 until just now. That's probably just what I need. Many thanks--I'll give it a try!
