I just noticed that my version of A is 1.2.3. Questions:
Will I get anything new or beter by downloading 1.2.6?
If I download 1.2.6, will I just be upgrading the program, or loading an entirely new program?
My concern is whether downloading 1.2.6 will affect my finished projects and those which are in the works. I'm an old fogie and usually don't like change.
1.2.3 to 1.2.6

Re: 1.2.3 to 1.2.6
It's a good idea, simply because there was a memory leak fixed in 1.2.6, but the rest of your experience might not change much.
Here's a list of the release notes between 1.2.4 and 1.2.6:

When you upgrade, you don't have to remove 1.2.3, you can just shut down Audacity and run the install program, it will install to the same directory and just re-write the files it needs to change. Your old projects should work just fine.
