Recently while converting my old vinyl albums to mp3's, I got to the end of Talking Heads and a pop- up message box read "Audacity.exe has stopped working. Windows can check on line for a solution... the next time you go on line"
I downloaded the latest version of the non-beta version of Audacity 11/23/09) afterwards I then proceeded to sucessfully record two songs (9 minutes long) and then an album side (20 minutes long) without incident. Assuming that the issue had been resolved, I recorded an entire album (approx 40 minutes) and then got the same message. Audacity then closed the file (I have no idea where the file is stored) but occasionally it will ask me if I want to delete a temp file.
Here is what the problem details say:

Anyone? What's going on here and what needs to be fixed? FYI I've been using Audacity to record at least 30 albums.
Thank you for any assistance.

That's a hard drive error.
