I am trying to edit a song...taking out a section and trying to connect the two remaining sections. The Audacity software allows sections to be cut but you must choose areas between whole seconds...like from 1:22 to 1:43. Unfortunately, the best place to pick up the beat correctly might be at 1:22.45 and it won't allow you to highlight EXACTLY where to start and stop the cut. At least, I don't know how to make it do that.
Can anyone tell me the steps to highlight exactly what to cut regardless of whole seconds...if it's possible. Is that feature available on the beta version?
Thanks...
Casey

Re: Song editing question
I'm unaware that you must edit or cut in whole seconds. Click the magnify button and you should see the wave forms lengthen and the time register acroos the top go to fractions of seconds. The more you zoom, the smaller the fractions. This allows you to pinpoint where to make the cuts, etc.

I think csk is talking about typing the selection into the boxes at the bottom of the main screen.
You can click on those boxes and change their display format. Try HH:MM:SS + milliseconds. That will give you 1000 times more accuracy.
