Beginner Getting Started.

I am a complete beginner at using audacity. My goal is to edit lesson recordings. Have been playing with the program all day and I am embarrassed to say that I can not figure out how to move back and forth within a recording. In other words how to rewind or fast forward. Could someone instruct me please. Also would be interested if someone know about a very basic tutorial in the program.

Here's some basic stuff...

Click once anywhere on the blue waves inside the timeline and the cursor will stick there. SpaceBar will start and stop playback from that point.
You can't find rewind and fast forward because there aren't any.
Drag-Select the area around that point and zoom in with Control-E. Play and see how you did. Keep going in until you find your edit point and put a label there -- Control-B.
